Just in time for the Adelaide Good Food & Wine Show I'm getting around to my [stunningly Instagramed] Sydney wrap up, how very convenient! It's no secret I love a good food event, so I was chuffed when I was contacted by Chobani asking if I would like tickets to the 2012 Sydney Good Food & Wine Show. Having never attended, I was eager to go this year and as such had already entered into a Facebook contest for a double pass from Australian Good Taste Magazine – but really who ever wins … [Read more...]
Noosa International Food & Wine 2012 – Part 2 of 3
I know, I know, Part 1 was a bit of a tease... some travel, a few treats but not too much of the food from the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival - so very unfair of me! Well then, lets get to it with some of the notable dishes from the Food & Wine Kiosks and a few of the Demos. So much tasting happened on Saturday in The Grand Marquee we didn't partake in too many of the plates on offer at the Kiosks - and the meaty ones RJ ate escaped my camera lens - but these are the ones … [Read more...]
Sydney Good Food & Wine Show – Ticket giveaway!
It's no secret I love a good food event so I was chuffed when I was contacted by Chobani to see if I would like tickets to the Sydney Good Food & Wine Show. Having never attended I was eager to go this year and as such had already entered into a Facebook contest for a double pass from Australian Good Taste Magazine - but really who ever wins those things... right? Would you know it, the next day I ended up with another set of tickets. With no worries about how to get myself, RJ and some … [Read more...]
Noosa International Food & Wine 2012 – Part 1 of 3
I love a good food festival so when I saw that the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival was being held over the weekend of my birthday it was a great excuse for RJ and I to get away for a few days. Before I get into the pics however, a bit about NIFW12... with events spanning from Thursday evening to Sunday night, there are a few parts to this festival. Food & Wine Kiosks: local restaurants, chefs and celebrities serving up one or two dishes and wineries pouring glasses of … [Read more...]
Taste of Sydney Part 2: More eating
If you've seen my exclusive Part 1: Best in Taste Award you may wonder how I could eat more a mere 18 hours later, but eat more I did. RJ and I headed out in the brilliant sunshine to ravish Taste of Sydney for the morning session on Saturday. I was the lucky winner of a competition for a double entry pass which covered the cost of admission so all we had to do was buy our 'Crowns' for food. $1 = 1 Crown for reference. The weather was so clear it literally looked white outside. Yes, this … [Read more...]
*Exclusive* Taste of Sydney Part 1: Best in Taste Award
Last Thursday evening was to be the launch of Taste of Sydney 2012 - Australia's definitive pop-up restaurant festival. However, on Thursday in Sydney the weather was not particularly good, it rained. That is probably one of the biggest understatements I've ever made on this blog, let me try again. From Wednesday evening in Sydney the weather was atrocious. Tropical depression, monsoon-esque, atrocious. It started with thunderstorms which overnight turned to torrential downpours and driving … [Read more...]
March into Merivale Launch Party
Last Thursday after work I made my way down into the city to catch up with a few lovely ladies I met at a Sydney Food Blogger picnic back in January. Social company aside, the March into Merivale Launch Party, which saw 13 food stalls and 4 bars take over the ballroom of The Ivy and the whole of Ash Street, was promising enough to warrant a migration over the bridge on a 'school night'. Even the weather was behaving for an evening of milling about, and the polished pretties of Sydney … [Read more...]
