Shoes for Ms G

My name is JJ and I have a problem with love of shoes. Just because they spread across two closets, multiple baskets, and a free standing 5-shelf storage unit with a double row of boxes on each level doesn’t mean I need help, really…

I’ve been much better in the past few years though – and other than a set of hiking shoes for the Inca Trail and a pair of black bad-ass boots during our last trip I haven’t bought any in ages.

However my niece is walking now and so it only made sense to turn my shoe-love on her for Christmas. Let’s just call it, grooming [cue evil cackle *waves at brother*]

But nice kids shoes here are expensive – very expensive – $50-expensive for something that a toddler will run around in, generally abuse and grow out of in mere months. I’d rather save my dollars for plane tickets to go and see Ms G instead.

So I went to the internets and would you know it I found Tiny Shoes. An Australian company with absolutely adorable shoes in nice materials at a reasonable price. At under $15 a piece on sale I bought two figuring that if they weren’t great it still wasn’t costing me as much as a single pair of the other ones I’d seen.

Soft, durable and completely precious, I was suitably impressed and it took all my will power to not get back on their site immediately and purchase two more.

I emailed Tiny Shoes a week or so ago to find out a bit more about them and Shane, one of the owners, got back to me immediately. “At Tinyshoes our values are quality, price and providing the highest levels of customer service, something that we find lacking these days.” Shane shared.

The company was founded in 2011 by 2 couples, one of whom had a 12 month old. They found it crazy that stores were charging up to $80 for toddler shoes realised they we would be able to offer quality footwear at a fraction of the price.

I’d say they are certainly succeeding.

The only down side is, as with most baby and toddler shoes, the largest size is 18-24 months. So it looks like these two pairs are the only ones Ms G will be receiving for now.

Based on how she’s running around these babies will get a work out, I’ll let you know how they hold up!

    love them!
I think I’m a bit shoe obsessed too. My little one is now walking, and I feel like I should get her a pair of shoes for her first shoes, even though we have a lot kicking around the house…. think those green ones might work!
