So, cooking takes much longer when snapping photos along the way – and I was told by RJ on x-mas day that I was acting like a tourist – but you know what, it makes me drool looking back at the pics! You may want to have a snack nearby just in case…
Stuffing and Candied Sweet Potatoes to start the feast. The Stuffing actually fell in the ‘aligned with the detox’ category. Def doesn’t negate all the other dishes but hey, close enough for x-mas! [yes, detox over Christmas, slightly insane, yes we took the day off as evidenced by the below]
‘Vintage’ recipe, hot from the oven. Made with so much butter that they nearly melt by themselves on a hot day.
‘More than one meat?’ my grandmother said…The Englishman had to have pork with crackling, the salmon was for me and it just isn’t x-mas with out a bit of ham and turkey. The road-kill chicken didn’t even make the pics. Most of it was organic at least.
More tasty sides and a few Green Bits for good measure. No fresh cranberries over here, but frozen ones made for authentic Cranberry sauce, Virgin mojitos and 24-hour Salad rounded out the meal.
Gingerbread, Lemon Sugar Cutouts and Date Bars…no Cuichidadis this year though. Although they didn’t make the photos, the ChocChip is always the favourite and first to go. Good thing it is one of the first Mixes available soon @ThePantry!
As American as…Pumpkin Pie – converting one Aussie at a time – and beautiful Apple Crumble for good measure. [perfect for breakfast the next day too]
Makes me happy.
