...with the full support of RJ at that. Now we're not talking about dodgy dorm-room or public-park stoned, this was high-class fancy stuff, and well worth the cost. It involved slightly trippy music, the feeling of floating and a fair bit of nudity...and afterward I had a massive bout of dry mouth, it took hours to come down, and I was starving. I highly recommend it to everyone. What to ask for? Hot.Stone.Massage. Ha! The Aveda Day Spa in Paddington is where I went to get my fix, compliments … [Read more...]
Thanks y’all
Around November I was looking at the artist list for this year's Bluesfest in Byron and amongst one of the most amazing lineups I have ever seen there was The Indigo Girls. We decided not to brave the madness at the festival over Easter [back when I went - many moons ago - it was tens-of-thousands in attendance instead of over a hundred thousand and really, I can't be bothered to share porta-potties with that many people anymore, no matter how legendary the bands are], so instead, for Christmas … [Read more...]
Sunday design
Last weekend I saw these at a market in the city: The company is called Red Dog Design - the rustic look appealed to my love of old things [I am most definitely a stone and wood girl a thousand times before concrete and steel, blame it on growing up in a 100 year old house], and the possibilities to my perpetually itchy travel feet. So my question to you is this, would you have a tower of the places you've been, or the ones you want to go to? And this little place, just a really cute … [Read more...]
Make good?
So I have a cousin that sends cards for every occasion. Not only remembers, but sends cards – without fail, for holidays, birthdays and even anniversaries. Must be hereditary as her mother is exactly the same. She even sent me an email to apologize for sending Christmas cards late this year, it still arrived before New Years…..I knew there was something I meant to do in December…. I on the other hand am about as good with cards as I am with emails. I think about it, have the best … [Read more...]
What’s it all mean?
I bought a grown-up wallet the other day. Beautiful leather, fabulous lining...... ...but all grown-up due to the fact that the shape of it reminds me of every wallet my mother has ever owned and if I am buying a wallet that looks like something my mom has, it must be grown-up. It was bound to happen eventually. [Hi Mom] That said, it looks like a new wallet is inspiring some money to show up in there some time soon. [It was on sale too so that's a good start in any case.] … [Read more...]
But it’s all sparkly
I saw this card the other day: "One of the most difficult tasks in the world is to convince a woman that even a bargain costs money" I, for one, understand that concept completely and all I have to say about it is... ....but look at it, just look at it, isn’t it beautiful? And guess what, its ON SALE! And it would match the new rug just perfectly! Good thing that was on sale too, we could use what we saved on the rug to get the chair, great idea, huh?! Well, it's … [Read more...]
Cue operatic voice…
...eBaaaaaa-yyyyyyyyy. Well, I just broke the seal and made my first purchase – I know, how did I survive this long with out it, right?! That said, it was done in a truly risk adverse fashion as a ‘buy now’ – not wanting to get pipped at the post. Lovely isn’t she? Borrowing my accessories already though, and in true coordinating fashion, even matches my new $18 chair from Salvos. .............. We have named her Eleanor [the mannequin not the chair of course, we aren't nearly crazy … [Read more...]
