Yep, just an ordinary Sydney [train]. Not particularly inspired, or clean, or cheap, or timely, but got me from point A to point B today, reasonably efficiently. I have had a habit of taking photos of trains in the past - the bullet in Japan, some local monstrosity in Germany, and way too many of the NY Subway - but I definitely felt like a tourist today snapping these shots - I think I scared one woman who thought I was photographing her - oops. Day 11
Here birdie, birdie, birdie - meet my fine [feathered] friend the Rosella. It was hanging out in a tree in the driveway - yep, most of the birds here look like they belong in a zoo exhibit somewhere, something to do with the heat....[humm, just made that up really, but it does get quite tropical]. Get too many of them together and it's like sitting next to a bunch of obnoxious girls at the races, but individually they're just pretty and colourful. See all 30 days posts here… … [Read more...]

Complements of NPR...."The Trend — its spotting, its tracking, its examination — has become omnipresent in contemporary culture. Now that is not too much of an issue for me as I have recently grown fond of 'The Rockford Files' and would … [Read more...]
Day 9 of 30
Pizza [night], that can't be allowed....oh but it can. So the rules are no white flour, no cow's milk, no sugar, no saturated fat oils, organic...blah blah blah... Good thing I like to bake - organic whole wheat spelt flour, hard goats cheese [as a friend said, of course I would find something like that], organic no sugar pasta sauce [so good it is sticking around well after this diet thing is over], olive oil and veggies. Sounds like no fun, tastes like a pizza party! Just as good cold the … [Read more...]
