On the weekends the kitchen just sucks me in. Today went something like this…went for a walk; RJ wanted Moroccan Lamb Shanks for dinner – easy – so we stopped at the shops for meat; had to get onions and found bananas on the clearance veg rack; because I got bananas and we already had some as well, decided to make Banana Bread; rather than my usual non-meat variation on the Lamb Shanks figured that it was a good chance to try out the homemade Seitan recipe; needed Polenta to go with the stews….and of course had to photograph it all.
It’s like a run-away train. Decided early on not to make bread and didn’t have time for Muffin Mix testing but good many hours later we have bellies and a refrigerator full of Moroccan Lamb Shanks, Moroccan Seitan, Polenta, Basic Seitan and Banana Bread. And way too many pictures to comb through and edit!
Love that I have lots of bench space, love my Le Chasseur casserole pot, like my camera, hate the lighting in the kitchen, desperately need a good flash, thank goodness for spellcheck.
Recipes soon to follow. Good night.

I wish I shared a love for the kitchen…but we have a mutual distaste for one another. As much as I try…it just isn’t meant to be between us.

The vortex can do that – it spits me out as much as it sucks me in, but the good bench space helps to keep us on regular speaking terms!

Hi JJ, have found the Moroccan lamb shanks, but not the seitan recipe. I have had trouble getting the ingredients, listed in other people’s recipes, here in Australia and employees in shops don’t know what I am talking about. Can you please share a seitan recipe and also where you get the ingredients? Thank you so much, Kerrie
