Good Eats Holiday Gift Guide 2014

Good Eats Holiday Gift Guide 2014

Next up in my 2014 Holiday Gift Guide series… edible gifts for the gourmet.

Food should never be overlooked as the perfect gift, especially when it’s as good as the items here. True, it doesn’t quite have the longevity of a cake stand or a cutting board but good food, shared between friends, is the stuff memories are made of. Of course you can always pair food with another complimentary present too.

** These are some of my favourite edible treats. Most are locally made by small producers with a stunning passion for what they do — I’ve indicated them with a double asterisk. **

1  Fresh Sourdough by Brasserie Bread** | plus a certificate for one of their baking classes  •
2  Bloomy White Sheep Milk Cheese by Pecora Dairy** | and a gorgeous wooden plate  •
3  Black Onyx Cocoa Powder by Choclatique | with a tiered cake stand  •
4  Cultured Butter by Pepe Saya** | and creme fraich and buttermilk and… well you get the point  •
5  Vanilla Paste by Heilala Vanilla** | plus a make your own vanilla extract kit  •
6  Vietnamese Cinnamon by Penzeys  •
7  Macadamias, lots of them | with a jar of Holiday Mixed Spice  •
8  Unheated Honey by Miellerie at My Omeio  •
9  Greek Salt, Olive Oil and Spoon Sweets from Alpha Food Store  •
10  Herbes de Provence by Anysetiers du Roy | and an enamel roasting pan  •
11  Brains/Beauty/Love Herbal Tea Blends by IAMINFUSION | with a gorgeous porcelain cup and saucer

Still looking for other ideas? You may find something in the Socially Conscious Holiday Gift Guide, the Let’s Brunch Holiday Gift Guide or the Happy Hostess #shopsmall Gift Guide.

I am completely aware that as Christmas is in two days and no one is shipping anything anymore the timing of this guide is terribly unfair — but I couldn’t let the holidays pass without sharing some of my favourite indulgences!

I’ll have to wait for an occasion, but very nice ideas.
